News: Mining World Heritage: what makes us who we are?
The World Heritage Site Lecture 2024 took place on 7 November in the Chapter House at Durham Cathedral. The recording is now available. Ross Forbes from Durham Miners’ Association spoke about Redhills applying for transnational World Heritage status. The event was organised by the Institute of Early Modern Studies (IMEMS) in partnership with the Durham Castle and Cathedral UNESCO World Heritage Site, Durham Cathedral Institute and the City of Durham Trust. Professor Ita Mac Carthy chaired a panel discussion featuring Durham University Chancellor Fiona Hill.
